He had a great if somewhat unsupported gig here in Whitby on Friday. I'll post the song he played where he got the sound man (who he'd never met before but who used to be a session player with a load of bands) to join him. Martin played for well over 2 hours, chatting, ribbing and telling off his audience. He's on great form and if you're able to get up to the Sage on 27th July don't miss the opportunity because live he's just a great performer (and a hugely underrated guitarist). The new album is pretty good - especially the 2nd half and the whole back catalogue is now available again - hurrah! (Yes, even the American recordings and Lilac Tree.) Google - Martin Stephenson - to get his MySpace pages with the current tour dates.
Off to Glasto next week, if you get a minute can you give the line up a once over (especially the lesser known stuff)and offer recommendations as to who not to miss. Cheers, time you came down to the festival and brought the girls!
Cheers mate, might try to get over for some of it at least, plus some ace October east coast birding of course! Will digest your recommendations for Glasto but as you know I'll not be going anywhere near anything associated with the "D" word unless seriously inebriated.
A friend - who is considerably younger than myself - was musing on the "Will I ever dance again?" theme not so long ago. A worrying thought, never to make a complete ass of myself in public again .... I don't think so.
Whitby Birding is now a historical site, I'm not intending to post here anymore. However, I still intend to continue blogging go to my Literate Herring blog, see below.

He's looking a bit older than when we last saw him! (but then aren't we all!!)

We were just talking about this yesterday. Think we've decided to go to Musicport again this year, even though it is in Bridlington.
I've always fancied the Latitude Festival - great comedy line-up as well as music. Trouble with Glosto and Latitude - they're in ******* term time.
What dates are Musicport?
17th to 19th October at Bridlington Spa.
The Glastonbury recommendations are on my Badseawatcher pages, click the link near Martin's left knee (in the panel).
